Download Tangle

Tangle is free. The Weaver Audio Manager puts the cable-patchable rack in your DAW with six audio modules, the whole CV and clock system, and every other module running as a 14-day trial. It is the same app for everything Weaver Audio makes: it installs and updates the plugins and activates what you own, from the account where your licences live.

free, and nothing to sign up for to download it. the manager asks for a free account once, before it installs anything.

What the Manager installs

The rack

Tangle itself: the modular effects rack, as a VST3, Audio Unit and AAX plugin. Drag cables between modules, patch an output into any knob, and the whole patch runs live in the DAW with nothing to bounce and nothing to freeze.

Six audio modules, free for good

Each one also installs as its own standalone plugin.

The CV and clock system

The modulators, clocks and logic that make a patch move come with the rack. They patch into any knob on any module, free or paid.

The other seventy modules, on trial

They install too, and run for 14 days. Keep one for US$25, or every module for US$9 a month; either way the licence unlocks the module in the rack and as a standalone plugin. Browse the modules.

macOS 13 or later, one Universal build for Apple silicon and Intel. Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. Those are what the Weaver Audio Manager needs, and it is how the plugins install.

On macOS 11 or 12 the Manager will not run, but the plugins do: sign in to your account page and use the installers under install without the manager. They are there for anyone who would rather not use the Manager, too.

VST3 on both. Audio Units on macOS. AAX for Pro Tools: turn Pro Tools on in the Manager and it adds the AAX versions. No iLok for any format, and a licence activates on two machines.

The detail is on system requirements.

From the download to your DAW

  1. . The button above downloads it for this computer; nothing to sign up for first. On macOS, drag it into Applications.
  2. . It asks once, before it installs anything: your browser signs it in on weaveraudio.com (the Manager never sees your password), and it activates whatever your account owns.
  3. : the rack, the six, and any module you want to try; on Pro Tools, switch pro tools on too. The first time, it shows what you accept before it installs anything.
  4. . Tangle is in the effects list, already activated: no serial to type, no iLok. Rescan plugins if it is not there straight away.

The Manager activates whatever you own, and anything you buy later. Getting started walks through it, step by step, and the first ten minutes is a tour of the rack once it is open.

Questions

Do I need an account?

Not to download. The Manager asks you to sign in once, before it installs anything, because the account is where your licences, your trials and your 30-day refund window live. An email address and a password, or a Google sign-in, is all it asks for.

Does the free part expire?

No. The rack, the six modules and the CV system have no trial clock. Only the other modules run for 14 days.

Does it run in Pro Tools?

Yes. Turn Pro Tools on in the Manager and it installs the AAX versions alongside VST3 and AU. No iLok is needed.

Can I install it on a second computer?

Yes. Download the Manager on that machine too and sign in; a licence activates on two.
